Asako girls get their dormitory!

Finally, the girls at Asako Primary School have a place to stay and study. In 2007, when TAS first got involved with Asako there were 3 girls in school and none had completed their primary education.  Now, there are nearly equal numbers enrolling and 4 girls took the 2014 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education.  Only one of these gained enough marks to go on to secondary school but the results for upcoming cohorts are more promising. The girls have a specially hard time walking to school every day and many are withdrawn from school to marry or look after the home.  Having a boarding section at the school will make life very different for them.
