Sewing workshop at Usueni

Students are being trained how to use sewing machines in preparation for the visit in May by 3 teachers from Norbury Business and Enterprise College in Croydon. Specialists in Business, Jewellry making and Textiles will run week long workshops for Usueni girls which will hopefully improve their chances in the world of work. Many secondary school students do not qualify for college or university or, if they do qualify, they may not have the funds for fees.  Rather than returning to their homes for domestic duties and marriage, the skills they develop in these workshops may enable them to set up their own businesses and prosper in the adult world.
